The LGBT network of Long Island is an organization that is doing some incredible work to foster communities of care, inclusivity, kindness, and health.  While I am not a member of the community I have many dear friends and family who benefit from the services the Network provides and in my own small way, I can relate to the feelings of those who are underserved.  As an adopted child, I struggled my whole youth with feelings of not fitting in or belonging, of wishing I could look another way or be another way.  I wanted to fit in, I wanted to be accepted.  I am inspired by how the network is creating safe spaces for our LGBT youth so NOONE will ever feel like they are alone.  The message of the Network is that the world is a more beautiful place when we can be kind and accepting of our differences.
 
As Chair of the 2018 and 2019 Winter Ball, it is my honor to work to raise funds which fund a FREE HIV/STI testing program on Long Island.  HIV knows NO sexual orientation, it knows NO gender.  I am passionate about creating a culture of health on our beautiful island.
 
Did you know that Long Island has the most new cases of HIV per capita than anywhere in the US?  The funds we raise through Winter Ball are SAVING LIVES!
